I'm going to be running 2 MM2124 with 2 JL 500/1 amps. I have a Tsunami 850 watt amp kit with a 60 amp fuse. If I change the fuse to 70 or maybe 80 would that support 1000+ watts? the wiring is 4 gauge. I have a 93 Maxima. Can I use a distribution block to feed power to both amps without compromising any sound? Tweeter says I need a cap is this true?

you do know youre overpowering those subs with that amp right?
no, a distroblock will not compromise sound quality
you might or might not need a cap, i doubt it

Yup, those JL's will make quick work of those subs. Those things put out nearly 600 watts and thats 200 more than those subs can handle. If I were you I would go with the MM124. Those handle 500 watts and would be able to take the JL's a little easier. Other than that you may want to look into subs from Orion or Diamond Audio with 800 watt capacity. Youve got top shelf amps so no need to change those!

a cap cant hurt, and it helps in some high-power or very low current situations... this is how not to destroy your subs with those amps... yay for distros... add together all the amperage ratings of all the fuses in all your amps, and make that your power line rating. is all that clear?

The subs are 800 max and 400 rms but I thought it is better to overpower than underpower and they can handle some extra juice. I'm sooooooooo confused about the power rating on my amps. I've heard people say yeah it can do 550 ish or 600 or sometimes it deeps below 500. According to JL website and the manual its rated at 500 rms 1.5-4ohm and 12-14.5 volts. I did buy these at best buy and I bought the warranty on them in theory could I return the subs and switch them for the 500 rms 12s :D ?

Trust me. That JL is putting out a good bit more than 500 watts. ALL of their amps are quite underrated.

Not to my knowledge. But all the reviews Ive seen in magazines, the JL amps put out considerably more power than theyre rated at as do most high end amps.
