give us a price range, also tell what size of subs you have room for (can you fit 12's or do 10's work better in your car).

just for a reccomendation of what i like best with no parameters... i'd say 2 12" adire Brahma's running off of a US Amps USA-2000... 1kw of clean power to each sub... you'd shake the trunk off of your car lol... but that would run you around 2500 just for subs and amp, then there's wiring... possibly a new alternator, at least a rewound one, better batteries (all due to the large amperage draw from that amplifier) and you're looking at over 3g... so you can see the importance of giving us a price range to play with :p
MacLeod: I guess youre lucky Polk has such lax hiring standards.

    Josh: Damn skippy!

getting a 'system' generally implies that you're going to get full-range upgrades... that is, at least coaxial replacements for your stock speakers, and sub(s)... even if you only want subs, spending $200 on some decent coaxes makes a world of difference... also, do you have an aftermarket headunit? they come in very handy if you're going to amp anything, and amp you must if you're running subs. do you have any plans for expansion? as mentioned, what's your total price limit? and do you prefer crazy loud bass or tighter, more musical bass?

Yeah me too. These are my facvorite threads where we get to recommend things. It lets us piece together different systems for fun.

Like this ID Max 12" sub paired with this hoss Crossfire VR1000D.

Or for supreme decibels go with this Orion H2 12" and this monster MTX Thunder 1501D.

Thats the kind of setups I like. A single sub looks modest, but an H2 with 1750 watts is anything but humble!

i prefer the more subtle "whoa" effect... when you can't tell there's anything there until you sit in the car and listen... then you're like, "whoa..." :D unless of course the top's down, then everyone and their brother can hear it...

My woah effect is in my sig... really it's that quiet outside... all with no visible mods to the car...
Edit: Though I should be more modest than saying 100%....

I too am a big fan of the stealth install. I love the systems that the only component you can see is the head unit. Then when cranked up you hear the wonderful, clean sound coming from nowhere! Hopefull that how mine will sound once I get some gawddamned money coming in!!!

I need a better sub and I need component speakers!!!

and yeah, i kinda am starting to step away from the subtle whoa effect, at least for the car as a whole... this is probably going to be my next car-related purchase (not the car, the body kit around the bottom):

Oh, I love threads like this! :D

$2000 will get you an outstanding system

You can get something like MB Quart Premiums ($500) for your front stage.

Then something along the lines of a JL Audio 12W6 ($450).

Then run an Xtant 4.4 ($500) for the fronts and an Xtant 6.1 ($500) to the sub.

This would be strictly a SQ setup but it would get plenty loud and sound awesome assuming proper installation!

Polk Audio and MB Quart / JL are in two different leagues. MBQ and JL cost considerably more so naturally youre going to get more.

Dollar for dolllar Polk beats em hands down but if youre willing to spend $500+ on a set of speakers there are better out there. If youre budget is $350 or less you can beat the Polks.

im not a fan of MB Quarts new stuff and i definitely do not like JL. there are much better speakers out there than polk. but if under $350 is what you want to spend then polks are for you.
