well, the 10 is rated at 300 and the 12 is rated at 400...
you have a 300 watt amp
the 12 will have more displacement so itll probably be louder, but since youll be underpowering it, id venture to say that the 10 will sound better too
the 10 will also take up less space if thats a factor...

Well, being a huge fan of MTX, I know that a 300 watt MTX amp is more along the lines of 350-400! Therefore, the MM2124 would be fine. Besides, running 300 watts to a 400 watt sub isnt underpowering it. 200 would be cutting it close but 300 would be fine. You dont have to give a sub its max power in order to get max excursion out of it.

excellent point... in an appropriately designed box, you can get xmax with significantly less power than maxrms... for example, the brahma has a 1600 wrms thermal rating, but 600 is more than enough in a decently-sized sealed box to get it to xmax. so, anyways, what kind of box are you putting them in? as long as it's not a crazy-tiny sealed box, i vote 12's, as long as mac's sure that mtx underrates their amps by that much.

    Aha! A non believer!

Go here and see for yourself. The Thunder942. Rated at 235x2 and 940x1 at 14.4 volts. Tested at 13.8 volts it put out 2x292 and 1x1063!!!

Still not convinced? Then cruise on over here and check out the Thunder 500D. Rated at 1x250 and 1x500 at 12.5 volts. Tested at 12.5 volts it put out 1x456 and 1x775!!!!

    Need I say more?

MTX are powerhouse amps! You can not go wrong ever by buying one. Especially the Thunder series. The jury is still out on the MXA line. The only amps I like better at this pricepoint is Crossfire.
