FXi5's Placement
Hi,
I have been tossing up between RTi6's and FXi5's.
Thanks to those who posted a reply to my previous thread. Greatly appreciated.
FXi5's seem to be the shot.
My quesion is, regarding placement. Do the FXi's need to be placed against a wall? As per the picture on the polk site.
In the pic they are either placed against the side or rear walls such that sound can bounce off the walls.
I need them to be placed in the open with the side wall being a window and the rear wall being several feet away? Would they still work effectively?
Any infomation on FXi placement greatly appreciated.
Cheers Lee.:D

try it out that way, put them on top of something and see how it sounds. i don;t think that putting them there would be a bad idea. i bet you could pull it off.

Sure. Buy some stands or make your own. A couple of guys here have done that.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

They'll be fine. You don't really want the sound bouncing off the walls (at least I don't).
