If you have a "High End" or "Gourmet" grocery store, go blow some bucks on some of their pre-marinated/prepared meats and add some other goodies that you don't normally get ($15/lb cheese or such) and have a long sit down meal enjoying the new things in your life... ;)
There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin

Don't forget the mushy card with maybe a gift certificate of some sort. Something in writing seems to have always worked for me.

if you're going for more than an 'atta girl.

don't forget to write something in that card *yourself*,.. and roses. if she opposes dead flowers, get a red rose bush and, if you're up to the pressure, explain the lengths you will go to *never* let it die.

Not a mental picture I wanted.
Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

    You people disappoint me..........

Ask her what she's buying YOU now that she's got some coin......:p

EDIT: On a serious note, sending something like flowers to the workplace to celebrate a big raise (if it's not an outright promotion) would be like rubbing everyones face in it. I like the subtle at home (or away from work) approaches suggested if it's a matter of same job, just more money.

If her workplace allows it, personally deliver the flowers to her. Then plan a special weekend with her.

After that, ask her for extra $$$ to enhance the HT. If she say "No", at least you tried.

You fellas got it all wrong.

What does a wife want most of all? It's the thing we never like to do anymore, but it doesn't cost a dime.

Just tell her all that sappy BS you said to her before you got married -- you know, stuff like, "Every day my love for you grows" or "I can't imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else" or "You're like the sun and I am your flower; you're the light that makes my life brighter" or whatever corny line you can think of. Better yet -- write her a poem. Just make sure it's earnest.

Once you do that, she'll give you anything you want, including a new set of speakers.
    ;)

It's her raise-let her decide after you give her the nice card and flowers. Don't make it look like you're sandbagging her just because she's making more now.

thanks guys !! like Brett said I think sending her flowers to work would not be appropriate...(rubbing it in peeps face) seems like flowers are a go....and GC to the spa for a massage !!!

    and then cook a dinner......

    thanks !!

treat her and you if you want to a day at the spa... women love to be pampered. and it's something you can do together.

guys benefit from a relaxing session at a nice upscale spa. what's more romantic than pampering yourself and doing it TOGETHER.

trust me.... you'll both remember it for a long time.

    congrats to your wife.
