i need some help with my subs.. they are the older model.. for some reason the lead wires from the cone to the speaker terminals won't stay connected.. they either rip out of the terminals or they disconnect themselves from the solder (rare).. i have resoldered them 3 times and ended up having to extend the wires with some standard wire... what can i do to fix them? they are running off an Mtx road thunder (maybe 2800) amp.. also it is bridged.. so what could be the problem? thx for the help.. maybe one day i will be able to keep the subs in for more than 2 weeks at a time.. TIA

correct.. although i did find that i used the wrong kind of wire.. so that would attribute to the pull.. but why would it do it in the first place.. bad wires? solder job? do most have to resolder these subs?

yes, a lot of the first generation momo subs had that problem, im not sure if it was just too short of wire or bad solder or a combo of both, id resolder it again and hope for the best

see and i think thats part of the problem.. from what ive heard, the wire needed is some kind of hollowed out crossbraided wire.. but i could be wrong.. i tried some standard wires and they snapped at the solder pts..

tinsel wire is usuallyu the hollow braid type, but you can find some that is a flat braid type...
To get the hollow stuff if you can't find it, you can look for small, like in the 1/8-1/4" range coax cable.. This is usually cable for cell-phone antennas, or other GHz range antennas. You will remove the plastic coat, then pull the center conductor out... you are left with the super-fine braided sheild, which is basically the same as tinsel wire, just for not as much current.
    Best of hopes for you..
