Am I asking to much...

Ok, we have sold the house and are moving this weekend. Right now I have my old Polk HT setup in the living room which the new owners would like to have, so I gave them a price of $300. He said we'll make a deal when we hand them the keys.

What do you get for 3 bills...

RM 6200 satelites and center channel speaker.

R 10 fronts.

PSW 250 sub.

Speaker stands for the 10's

The mounting hardware for the Sat's.

About 200' of 12 AWG Monster XP cable.

I set up the system running all the speaker cables up the wall and around the top of the cieling. The wire running up the corner of the wall, I hid using PVC tubing. At the top, I put crown molding and then ran the cable behind the wall to the satelites for a real clean look.

So am I asking too much??? The speaker are working and cosmetically they look good, there is some corner damage on one of the R 10's. I feel like they are going to try and low ball me when we move.

With the money I get plus some extra, I plan on getting a good sub for the new house.

Thoughts anyone???

Seems like a fair price to me....but it is not important what we think...what does the buyer think?

I think it's more than fair IMO.

PS - XP Monster Cable is 16 awg. It's the MC which is 12 awg and that's $1.50/ft. which I doubt you paid for on small satellites.

If this was me, I would have all my posessions ready for moving if it was not specifically itemized in the sale agreement and can be removed without reasonable damage to the walls. If the speaker wire can be removed, tie a string to the end of the speaker wire when you are pulling it out so he can pull another wire through the channel in the future.

Not sure what your sale agreement states, but when he takes posession of the house, what ever you left behind is now under his roof. If he decides to purchase your equipment, you can always offer to help him install it.

No, it wasn't stated in the contract, just verbally. It looks like this Tuesday we will hand over the keys.

I think what I'm asking is pretty fair but from the sounds of it, he wants it for less. I don't think I'm going to take anything less than what I'm asking. If he does want them, I will have the money for them before we leave. I'm fully aware of leaving anything behind after we turn in the keys.

If he doesn't go for it, it looks like it would all come out except for the speaker wire. Just too many corners for it to be pulled out. I have no problem with that, it was my intention to leave the wire anyway.

The wife want to put that system in our bedroom if he doesn't want it.

Ok, just what I figured. He said no to the setup. His reason, and I quote..."For $300 I can get a brand new system at Wal Mart."

I said, "you sure can but I'm not going any lower on this system."

He did make me an offer on the satelites which I took. It was better to take his offer than to hear him complain about all the holes in the wall. These people where just a pain to deal with.

To that, you should have replied....

"You most definitely can.....and when those blow up time after time, you'll have been able to spend 3x what you're paying by paying for something NOT A ****"

Either way, I would have let him go and buy his $300 Wal-Mart special.........

I'm with brett. Let him go to Wal-Mart and get their Sharp HTIB or whatever junk they are peddling now-a-days. When he listens to it and says "Wow, that other guy's sounded better... wonder why?" you can sit back and laugh.
