    Hi Pinktulip,

For my RT5000 system I'm using QED Silver Anniversary speaker cables. I was using Monster XP, but the QED Silver Anniversary cables are superior in every way, and they match my Polks perfectly well.

i've been using the Monster Z2 for a few years now.. nice heavy guage. and make sure you get one that is correctly terminated with the ends you need.. otherwise. it's hell trying to terminate them youself correctly. the cable is very thick.

I'm not saying this is the best speaker cable out there.. i'm just saying it's what i use and still enjoy the sound of.

    pt7,
Not to muddy the waters further, but consider bi-amping with the 7300 on the highs and the 500 handling the lows.

As for wire, start with 12 gauge Woods wire or other "stock" wire available at Lowes or Home Depot. Will establish an inexpensive baseline for you to evaluate any "high-wire" purchases you make down the road.
    More later,
    Tour...

I have been using Monster Z2 bi wire for over about a year & have been very happy. Monsters Z2 bi wire & M1.4 are the same cable with a different jacket. M seties is cl2 rated & Z is not rated for in wall use. We use the monster master pin ends & just screw the termination you need on the end.
