ceiling suspended rears
what do you guys think of the tc80i ceiling mount speaker. i am wanting to get the fxi5's but there is nothing out there that will allow me to mount them on a bracket suspended from the ceiling. I basically have no walls behind me or on the right side of me. I can't use pedestals either. Does anyone have a suggestion before I make a decision. Is the tc80i all i can really do??? Please help.

I have been wanting to step up to a 7.1 system and would have to use in-ceiling speakers for the side surrounds. I have had installers tell me to use them and not to use them as they would be ineffective. If you do go that route can you post your experience here to help the debate?
Sorry I could not be of help. -
anyone?

There are ways to mount the FXi5 to the ceiling if you are willing to put a little effort into it. This will put minimal damage to the actual ceiling(maybe a couple of holes for anchors. From the looks of it, you ARE willing to do a little work if you are considering the inwall speakers.
I don't have time right now to elaborate, but I can post my idea later if you are interested. It also depends on how handy you are with a saw, or least able to get to someone with a saw.
Forgot to ask what angle you want the speakers from the ceiling.Tschüss

omnimount makes a ceiling bracket that will work perfectly for speakers 20 lbs. and under. This is the best option.
