3 GNX104's

Recently my cousin let me have 3 gnx104 subwoofers, and my friend let me have a performance teknique 1200 watt amp. My question is what does anyone here think about running all 3 of these together. Would you reccomend running them in series, or what. I know the amp is 2ohm stable so i dont want to run these in parallel because that will be less than 2 ohms. Any help or suggestions????

i think that this has come up before, and it was decided that pretty much any way you look at it, going with two in parallel is the ONLY way to go; doing otherwise ensures one of two things - cooking the amp or getting less than maximum performance.
okay, i'm sure this is getting annoying to all the regulars, but it works, and it's important, so go here to learn how to set your gains the right way. It's not good, very fundamentally simply not good. - geolemon

i got 3 10 inch polk gnx 104s hooked to a farenheit 2 channel amp and i got 2 subs ran to 1 channel and 1 sub ran off the other i allso got 2 12 polk gnx124 hooked to a 800 watt amp and they pound like crazy.thats how i would hook them upTesting

well, the 2 subs in parallel to one channel and one on the other channel gives the same amount of power to all of them, which is the primary concern, and maybe the secondary concern isn't such a big deal with the gnx line, but the amp's damping decreases by a factor of 4 (i think... its at least 2) when you halve the impedance presented to it... and that channel will run hotter and with more current (again, i think), which could possibly introduce some strange cross-channel effects. once again, maybe not a big deal with gnx, but one never knows...
the previously discussed issue was with a mono amp, i believe...It's not good, very fundamentally simply not good. - geolemon
