these look to be RTA 8T's. Not a bad buy for $100 local to Tampa but shipping to Chicago is $90.

I had these speakers for quite awhile before I found my RTA11TL's at a garage sale. Decent mid-range and the SL2000 tweeter has a softer sound, as compared to the SL3000's.

I would say they sound ok to pretty good (I had the 8Ts, but I assume they're pretty close). They have a nice midrange (notice the 8T's had same driver as many SDS speakers), acceptable bass but sort of mushy.

They do lots of things pretty well (I used them as mains with about 50/50 music/movie usage). Was always happy, but when I brought home the RTA11TL's, the highs just lit up and the lows became much better defined. Although maybe the SL2500 is a little brighter than the SL2000? Anyone know?

They're pretty efficient and have a nice small footprint so they would match up very favorably with a vintage receiver as a 2-channel system tucked away somewhere. For $100 you couldn't go wrong with a nice pair of these.

Yes those are the RTA-8ts. But the power handling is 250 watts. I love mine, they really came alive when I powered them with my Parasound amp. I got a big bass boost and a lot more clarity from them. I had to turn down my subwoofer quite a bit because it became too much once I had them powered with the amp.

Awesome, another well spent $100. If you ever got sick of them, took some nice pictures and listed them correctly you could easily make a profit.

I've got the specs for them around here somewhere if you're interested...

To clean those old dust caps, just spray windex on a Q-Tip and have at it, just dont soak it with it...just enough to remove the oxidized glue from the cap
