From what I can tell. My JVC RX-9010VBK has NO tape monitor. I can record just fine, but can't use my EQs and Sonic Holo. gen. without hooking them up in-line from source to copy. I recently got a CDR that I'd like to copy to, but I don't want to have to recable from each source

    Hi:

I don't know about your JVC, but my Denon 4802 allows me to go into the tape rec. menu and select the record out source. I have an EQ also that I use in my Choir ministry and this is the way I use mine. A lot of higher end receivers don't have a dedicated tape monitor, but most will allow you to do what I did to get mine to work.

That is a lot better because only the programmed rec. out signal goes through the EQ.

Maybe all you have to do is run cables from the tape 1 output to your EQ input, output from EQ to tape rec in. Then connect your CD recorder to the EQ. If your receiver has the capability, you should be able to select the source connected to your receiver that you want to record to your CD recorder.

Yeah, I could hook it up before the CDR, but I want more versatility than that. I want to just listen to music with them, record to VCR (6 hrs of music), etc. I haven't given up yet.

Man I miss my Kenwood Basic Preamp.
