Sorry to hear of the delay, that has to suck big time. Do they give you a month off or anything after serving time at war? I would think at least 3 or 4 months paid vacation would be appropriate. I'm sure just being back in the US is all that really matters.

So he gets home tomorrow. It's probably a big deal to HIM right now, but as far as these welcome posts on almost every forum, I'm going to bump each one up in the morning so they're here for him to see when he DOES log on.

I wasn't kidding Sid, and I don't think you were either. If becoming a 16 year old snot excites you, watch yourself.

Now drop it and leave this thread for what it was intended.

    Welcome back you big stupid!!!!

I don't know where the remote is, I didn't have time for tv.

I am missing some South Brooklyn Guinea T's though. Oops, I forgot, your generation calls them wife beaters. Mine are the size smalls and please don't use them for rags.

I'm glad you're enjoying the comfort of your own home man. Sleeping in your own bed, crapping on your own throne, getting up and getting something to eat whenever you want, and enjoying the company of that wonderful girl.

    Well....

I'll tell you guys, it's DAMN good to be home. DAMN good.

You know, the things you miss is funny and George (having been in my shoes a time or two) nailed 'em. It's the little things, really.

Yeah, so the ride home sucked, LOUDLY. 23 hours from the time I took off in the UAE to the time I got off the plane in Atlanta. It took 3.5 hours to get through customs and get our bags. Did I mention the kid that SCREAMED all the way from Germany to Atlanta?? As I told the kid's mom, you can't blame the kid, 10 hours in a plane for a 2 year old has GOT to be terrible. We missed our connecting flight home, couldn't get another one so was stuck in Atlanta overnight. Trust me, after 4 months, staying an extra night anywhere but home does in fact, suck.

Anyhow, got home yesterday and it was all worthwhile. Don't let George kid you, he even vacuumed the carpets.

Anyhow, I'm REALLY touched be the well wishes. You guys are the best.

Glad to see you've returned unharmed Troy.

A buddy of mine has twin sons, both 24. One was killed 2.5 weeks ago entering a booby-trapped structure. He was the second man to enter, the first was blown to pieces, he was thrown up against a wall and that split his head wide open.
