Line IN (filtered) or LFE IN (unfiltered)?

The sub out on my HK receiver is filtered. I bought a sub cable that has a "Y" so i have it hooked to the Line in L/R on the sub. But shouldn't i be using the unfiltered LFE IN instead? Wouldn't that be a better balance? I already tried the speaker route and that didn't work out so i'm doing the next best thing.

    You can hook up one end of the cable to the LFE in or both to the line in. If you pick line in set the crossover all the way up to avoid double filtering. Either way is kosher.
