...every one **** about the quality or lack thereof of modern music yet one of thebest bands out there is barely mentioned.

Hasn't anyone heard of Train?

If not, do yourself a favor and grab any one of thier albums. They have a few big hits but honestly, the best songs are not the top 40 singles heard on the radio.

The lyrics are simple with simple meanings but if you think about it for second, you realize how deep they can actually be. Coupled with excellent instrumental skills and musical arrangements, you get complex songs made up of simple parts. The better the sound system you play them on, the more details pop out. Add to that the lead singer's unique voice and dynamic vocal range and it certainly is a treat!

I heard thier first album Train (self titled debut) after catching part of teh song Meet Virginia on a local college/underground radio station. I found thier album a few weeks later and grabbed it. Then I heard "Meet Virginia" damn near every day until my head was ready to explode! The rest of the album more than made up for it though and I was hooked. I pre-ordered Drops of Jupiter with seeing only the album cover on Amazon.com. Then, My Private Nation made a rather uneventful debut around this time last year and I finally picked it up earlier this year. This is, hands down, thier best album yet!

So if you havn't grabbed an album from these guys, go get one. Any one of them. You will not be dissappointed.

Yeah, I got Drops o Jupiter & My Private Nation.

My favorite song is the last one on Drops. I was alittle disappointed with Nation. Maybe I'll give it a spin tonight and see if I can get into it a little more.

    Heck yeah........

    Im a die-hard Train fan.....

I have all their cd's plus some singles and the rare EP releases, along with a bunch of live stuff. The band recorded their live shows this past touring season and handed out the cd's at the shows, if you want the live stuff check out "traindiscuss.com" and Train is releasing a live album in November so be on the lookout for that.

I believe 'My Private Nation' to be their least captivating album, but I still like the 2nd half of it.

If anyone wants MP3 copies of their rare songs and EP releases or covers, send me a PM with your email address and I will get back to you.

They also do the most amazing Zeppelin covers of any band out there today, you should hear their cover of 'Ella Fitzgeralds - I'm Beginning to See the Light', it's just wow. They did release an EP this year called 'Live In Atlanta' that had a 'Whole Lotta Love/Ramble On/Walk on the Wild Side (Medley) [Live]' Zeppelin cover and a cover of 'Aerosmith's 'Dream On' along with a live version of 'My Private Nation' and and acoustic piano only version of 'When I Look To THe Sky'.

They also have a new single out called 'Ordinary' from the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack, It's a little harder-edge than other Train songs, but I think any Train fan will like it. They have a song called 'Fall Out' from the 'We Were Soldiers' movie soundtrack aswell, check out amazon.com for all their stuff.

I just put in Train's first CD, and am listening to it at moderate volumes...

And it seems that this CD has the *best* sound quality out of all of them. The 2nd Train cd is really laxed with alot of bass. The 3rd one is slightly harsh on the top end...

    This one seems highly detailed...

    Very interesting...
