Warning to all Polk Audio Customers

I was selling my LSi's on eBay to move to inwalls in my new theater-room. Polk had my listings removed from ebay (with only 1 hour left) because as a part of my listing I used the description and pictures available at polkaudio.com. (To say I'm slightly peeved at the moment is an understatement)

So a warning to all you polkie's out there. If you list a Polk speaker on eBay do not use the picture or any part of the description from Polks Site.

Learn from my misfortune.

It's copyrited material broham, simple as that.

Take a couple pictures yourself, or make note that pictures and stats can be found at www.polkaudio.com.

    Cheers,

It's an Ebay policy (I think), saw it happen to another guy selling a completely different brand.

After looking into it more it is an eBay policy, but has to initiated by the "rights owner". In this case Polk. A good way to lose a long-time customer.

Anyway, just wanted to make others aware of the Polk's policy on that stuff so you don't get screwed like I did. I'm sure the same does hold true for some other manufactures as well.

Your not screwed, man. Try and be a LITTLE creative and post your own words. or direct people to the site to read it them selves.

I can assure you Polk DID NOT have your ad pulled. It isn't their style.

If I could only show you the listing.. I did a pretty nice job I thought..

I didn't think it was Polks style either.. I would almost expect it from other compaines. That's why I was so surprised they did this.

    Read for yourself.

Anyway, my point is not to bash Polk here. Just a warning to anyone that may think about selling there Polks on eBay.

Sorry you ran into a road block, re-list them and they will sell.

If you don't mind a question though. Why would you want to get rid of Lsi's in favor of In-Wall speakers?

There are plenty of folks selling Polk products on eBay, however if you use any part of their copyright material they will pull your auction. It's not just Polk, but all companies. Relist the item using only your description and you'll be fine.

Jeez I hate when that happens!! If I were in your position I'd start throughing out all of her shoes!! Tell her that there's to damn many and they're all ugly anyway. Then offer to compromise, she keeps the shoes, you keep the LSi's.

    Hell it's worth a shot!:D

    Frank,

You mean to tell us that Debbie has only 1 pair of shoes for each purpose? Aw come on now!

You gotta find a better correlation!

I would use the old adage:
Why waste money on tampons, when a good old lone tube sock will work just as well and is washable!!!!!;)

She has a total of 4 pairs, that's it. Hell you can only wear 1 pair at a time, so why bother with more. She'd rather save the money and put it towards more speakers anyway!:D

It happened to me also. I was selling my Rti150 and ebay ended my auction for the same reason. I had the Rti150 taken from polk site.

    jltrdavis,
I was watching your auction for LsiC and Lsi15 and it just disappeared.
I'm interested in Lsi15. email me at malikarshad@hotmail.com if you are interested.
