SVS PCi vs plus

I am looking at upgrading my subwoofer as I will be moving to a house this spring and will now be able to have a down-firing sub. I want to get the subwoofer bought now before all the new home items zap the budget! I'm considering the SVS, the Outlaw, and the HSU subs. In looking at the SVS, is there enough of a difference between the PCi with the 325 watt amp versus the PCi Plus with the higher power amplifier to make the extra money worth it? My room size will be about 18'x24'.

    The TC-Sounds dB-12 is a more capable woofer than the Improved Standard Driver (ISD) used in the PCi. Expect a PC+ to outperform a PCi by about 5 dB below 30 Hz. Above 30 Hz, the advantage is less, about 2-3 dB.

    I was simply thinking a bigger amp would mean better sound....sort of like a guys stereo system. Example: trying to power Polks. A guy at our local HIFI shop showed me once how much of a difference using a sub makes versus not having one while playing music. He turned it up just loud enough to hear the music fill the room. When he turned it off the room had an empty feel and the music sounded very directional....coming from one wall........... I am sold on the idea.

    I was trying to decide between the pc+ or the pc ultra but this is where $$$ comes into play. Also one of those not very often and only want to do do this once purchases. Hard to believe how expensive any of these subs are!
