In the past, the Lsi7 seemed to be overshadowed by its bigger brothers, but lots of folks on the forum have recently discovered this gem. In fact, in the October 2004 issue of Stereophile magazine, the Lsi7 is a highly recommended purchase. This issue also has a review of the Rti4.

The Lsi7 is an incredible speaker in its price range. With brand new pairs selling at less than half of the retail price, it's a steal.

I totally agree. I would choose it over its big brothers anyday.

The LSi's are sweet. The RTi4, RTi28, and RT25i have all been critic's favorites.

Polk makes an awesome product. It saddens me though that they don't get the level of exposure in the rags that other manufacturers do.

Thanks to the great CC sell-off, I have been able to put together a HT setup for the bedroom that consists of:

    RTi6's - front mains - $160 for the pair
    RTi4's - surrounds - $112 for the pair
    CSi5 - front center - $179

I have been really impressed with both the RTi6 and RTi4, both for music and for movies. Highly under-rated speakers in my humble opinion! I have listened extensively to a friends LSi9 and LSi7 speakers, and I have to agree that the LSi7's are pretty sweet and almost better than the 9's. I am considering selling my SDA-2's and going with a set of 7's or 9's and an HSU sub-woofer as a more compact 2 channel set-up when I move to my new house.

That would definitely be a good move (no pun intended). I have a pair of Lsi7's and a Hsu STF-2 in a two-channel system and the sound is amazing. Hsu subs are made for music. Consider getting a Cambridge Audio 640C CD player, which is also highly recommended by Stereophile magazine.

Hold on to those SDA's, though, if possible.

Polk should include some info on "burn in" on these speaker as some found them rather not up to par in a few hours of use
and back they went . "Break in period" makes a huge diff. on these speakers. ;)

    That is not true

Infact the the entire RTIxxx line (RTi70, etc) was NEVER praised in anyway....

Not that I am aware of anyways

The RT25i was an awesome speaker, hands down.

    Never have heard the RTi4

One thing I've found out with the Lsi7's is that they don't stand out from the competetion if you don't give them proper power. I had mine running of a crap really low end avr and didn't really understand why they got such high praise. Then a few months later I bought a NAD integrated amp to use with them and then I found out what they could really do. Power hungry little things :p .
