A Compromise Perhaps, No Problems Thus Far

Well, My amp just wasnt quite handling up in the low end sending the signal to the subwoofer....
So I compromised and it seems to work well. I still have the speakers plugged up through the subwoofer, but I have the amp plugged into the 80hz filter on the B&K and plugged the subwoofer up through the LFE...frees up the amp and gives the subwoofer some extra kick!
So far, I have had no problems and the sound seems to have greatly improved.
Any thoughts on this?
Also, I run my speaker wire through the subwoofer because of the NAD, it dosnt have a good crossover feature.....

If I wind up with an SVS I should be able to chat a little bit more in detail about this post but in the meantime......... it looks like good sharing of information.

Sid,
Kind of an unusal way to go, but saves re-wiring the mains, I guess.
I take it you max'd out the sub's cross-over setting? While the LFE will bypass it to the sub, it's still in line to the mains...More later,

I have two preamps, the NAD has a 60hz crossover, so for movies that isnt really any good.
So since the B&K has a crossover, I just ran it with the speakers still run through the SVS with the LFE...
2 Preamps, one that is ancient, one that is new...god I wish I had a bunch of money just to blow around ahhahahha
I would get a B&K HT preamp...
On another note, I switched the power cord with my B&K and XBox and noticed a noticeable difference in the high end clarity...or maybe it was my ears...but then again I didnt even know I switched it till after I listened...dunno
and...
No I am didnt disable the Sub's crossover - I ran a frequency sweep with the crossover disabled and had terrible dips and curves in the 60-90hz region, so I still run an 80hz crossover on the sub as well.. Which gives me the flattest response I can get within my room with my limited placement and test equipment...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Whatever works, lil' bro...
