Need help choosing HT system. This system is used mostly for movie watching. The 7200 system is a pretty good price at CC right now but I am willing to go a little higher. Want these to be no bigger that the 7200 surrounds. Any advice would be appreciated

    Courtesy bump for you....I dont know much about the RM series as the smallest Polks I have recently heard is R15s which sound great for their size and price. I listened to the earlier RMs many years ago and hated the tweeters on them....
    System 1: Martin Logan Vantage, Rotel RC 1070, B&K Reference 200.2, Music Hall DAC 15.2, Yamaha 2300

    System 2: LSi15 w/db840, Marantz SR8400, Rotel 1080, RM6800 (C&S), Sony X2020ES

    System 3: LSi7, Yamaha SW215, Music Hall Maven, Music Hall MMF CD25 w/627opamps

    System 4: RTi100, Harman Kardon AVR 230, Panasonic DVD

    The RM7200 is a compact system. Any system that is a step up from the RM7200, will have larger speakers.

    For HTIB, the next step up (and very similar), if you can still find it, would be the RM7600.

    If you want to put together separates, polk has an HT system tool at http://www.polkaudio.com/home/toolbox/sysbld.php , As well as suggested pairings at the bottom of the page for each speaker (as the mains). Using smaller (relative) speakers, I might suggest either an RTi4 based system, or an LSi7 based system (the LSi7 require an appropriate amplifier to go with them).
    Win7 Media Center -> Onkyo TXSR702 -> Polk Rti70

    Thanks for the suggestions. I know this probably is not the correct site to ask this but do you guys think that the rm7200 system will outperform the Bose Accoustimass for movie watching

    Yes, they will. You have a few things to consider when choosing a speaker system, such as room size, listening levels, layout,to name a few. If you look around this site there are a few tools to help you.

    I think I just got a deal. CC had the rm7200's on sale for $450. I know they were like a $1000 system when they first came out. The price decrease was because of the new models coming out. I still thought this was a deal that I could not pass up.
