This protector has twice the surge capability, looks as good and is half the cost of the $200 Monster strip. Great deal if you need one.

I actually bought it last week, should be here shortly. This week I noticed it was priced lower. (I paid $144 something for it). I emailed them and nicely asked if they could lower the price for the one I bought. No threats of return or anything like that, just a simple "could you please consider it".

I know what you are thinking, an internet site giving money back after a sale? No way, right? Well, $30 or so has been credited back to my credit card. She says they cannot do it in every case obviously but in this case they can. That is an internet site I will go back to in the future!!! Talk about the warm fuzzies! :)

Yeah, Provantage is pretty good. I've bought a bit of stuff from them for work. let me know how you make out there, I may get one to play with. Not sure if I'd use it for my computer or for my system.... probably my stereo, as right now it's just running on a Wal-Mart surge strip (yes, it is surge, just not the greatest)

I bought the Tripplite for my plasma/video receiver/DVD player. I figure it is good insurance against surges. After comparing the specs between it and the Monster strip there was no contest. I also have a pair of their LCR-2400 brown-out power conditioners. They are really cool. You can see the out put switch up or down in voltage as the line voltage changes. They use a relay controlled setup that switches the transformer taps to keep a steady output voltage.

I use TrippLite Isobar surge protectors for all three of my setups and both of my subs. They work great and are worth every penny. In addition to the protection they offer, they clean up the power and improve the sound. This one is made for HT and is an excellent buy.

Tripplite Isobars are excellent-they are the only strips that we use in the labs for anything PC, instrumentation, analyzers, etc... Definitely worth the cost-and no name brand hype.
