Hey people I went on a little shopping spree and bought myself a couple things. One of which was a NAD integrated amplifer (c352). Its beautiful and I can't belive the difference it makes with my lsi7's but one thing I'm curious to know is that if its normal for it to send a wierd low frequency signal out of the preout to my sub when I turn the nad on and off. It doesn't really bother me I just want to make sure if it should be doing that. Thanks !

I've never heard of a integrated amp doing this... what kind of hum is it? like a hummmmmmm or more like a humm pop sound?
some amps "pop" when turned on..
how do you have your speakers and sub wired to the NAD?PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Its sort of a couple pops, kinda hard to describe. My speakers are wired just bare wire to the posts and my sub is hooked up to one of the pre-outs. I'm asuming if other amps "pop" its probably pretty normal.

Its probably just turn on and turn off noise caused by the large differences in current when turning on/off.Brian Knauss

I have a McIntosh integrated that makes noise when I first power it up. It quickly goes away and I have dismissed it as the capacitors charging.Make it Funky!

That isn't normal, IMO. Is the sub powered?Political Correctness'.........defined

Thanks for the info ... I'm glad to know its not anything bad.
F1nut the sub is powered but describing the sound as a pop makes it sound worse than it is. Its more of a little wave of low frequency sound. -
Try turning the integrated on first, then turn on the sub power.Political Correctness'.........defined

The sub turns on by itself it doesn't have a power on/off/auto switch... kinda crappy but I got a good deal on the sub. (its an athena sub 8 btw)

Hmmmmm........well, either unplug it after use and then plug it back in after you turn on the amp, install a switch or live with what you have.Political Correctness'.........defined

Does the sub make the same noise with another amp/receiver? Maybe it's the power up thump of the sub's amp?

Ok thanks people I just wanted to make sure it was supposed to make that noise and that I'm not fritzing anything.
Phoneisbusy ... its the integrated amp because I've never heard that sound untill I incorporated it into my system and the sub doesn't do it with my other receiver.
