Fellas! Check out SoundDomain's MM6 price! $190!! Hell yeah!! Thats awesome! New and from an authorized dealer so you get the Polk Audio warranty!

Damn! Ive got to scrounge together $190! This is too good to pass up!

Ill have to run the mids full range (80 Hz and up) though cause the damn x-over isnt set up for bi-amping but oh well. Maybe it will pull the stage over to the right a little which would help a lot. Dont know, I just know I cant pass up $190 for the best set of $300 speakers on the market!

That low? My MMC690 dont respond to well to anything below 70 now. Are the MM6 more suited to low frequency stuff?

i ran my full range with 1.5 their rated power--basically beat the living crap out of em
    they worked for 3 years...
with their rated power theyd probably handle ~50Hz easily
at least 60--you dont want all your bass coming from the back--esp. if you want to compete in SQ comps...youll see a lot of them have their fronts crossed over pretty low

Ill give it a whirl. Ill only be putting 120-140 watts to each so we'll see how it sounds. My Crossfires have a variable x-over from 50-500 Hz so Ive got plenty of flexibility.

Id like to get a passive x-over cause I really dont want to run the mids full range so I will be able to tune it even further.

The only problem with those are the $380 price tag. Since Im bi-amping them I want a 3 way cause I want to run my sub amp thru it to so I can cash in on the 18 db bass boost most x-overs have (my Crossfire only has a 6 db! ).

The one Im looking at is this Coustic XM6 for a cool $115. It has 3 inputs and an 18 db variable boost. Plus I like Coustic from back in the day so it would work.

    i dont know jack **** about crossovers...lol
when i get my 3-ways im going to get an equalizer of some ****
test the acoustics of the truck and plan the sub box accordingly with the cabin gain of the truck
also testing the comps in the front and try to make them as flat across the speaker range as i can

you may want to check out audiocontrol's xovers... there's one that's extremely flexible that may suit your needs.

cody - i did the whole flat-response thing (13 bands +- 3dB from 50 - 20000 Hz) and found that it sounded nasty. give it a little bit of a custom loudness curve and a smidgeon of BBS and i was rockin the block... point is, you may just want to tune with your ears over any meter... although i must admit that starting from a relatively flat curve made the tuning easier...

those are basic 12 dB/oct crossovers, and while they go in front of the amp, they're still passive; cody wants an equalizer.

so, for a pretty good setup:
    AudioControl Xover
    3x7 band eq

    for ultimate control:
same xover (good times w/ that one)
    2 of these 31-band eqs
    ^^damn...

One thing Ive noticed is that its hard as hell to find a x-over with 3 inputs!! About 90% of the ones Ivev looked at are 4,8,10,8000 channel x-overs but only have 2 inputs! WTF?!?!?

That Coustic model is looking better all the time.

The reason I want a 3 way is to run my sub amp thru it and take advantage of the 12-18 db bass boost. My amp only has 6 db and I want a little extra oomph in the 40 Hz range since Im only going to be running a single 8 (probably).
