I used to play trombone, lame I know, but since then have a strong disposition for any music, rock especially, with brass in it.

I have been learning to play guitar since 1965. I am currently in an acoustic trio with another guitarist and a bass player. We play a few local bars in the Cincinnati area. As you might guess, I am partial to Carvin equipment.

There is a difference between being good and professional recorded to being mediocre and in high school.

But yes, I agree, the bone is essential.

I really don't categorize the music I play, but I guess you could say it pretty much runs the gammut. There isn't much I don't enjoy. As far as music that I'm into now....

    Alternative Country:

    My Morning Jacket
Wilco (not as much alt country anymore)

I'm also into more acoustic stuff. Any music that has soul (which is pretty much NOTHING that's on the radio now-a-days).

I'll just sit back and wait for someone to call me a music snob now. :) I'm really not like that...I just don't like the over produced stuff that the radio shoves down your throat over and over and over again on the radio. There is no variety anymore.

Call me 'indie man' I guess...

Ive been a drummer for 16 years. However I havent played in 2 years. Thats the trouble with drums; they dont have a volume control so when you live in an apartment its hard to get in practice time!

I play mostly progressive heavy metal like Dream Theater, Rush, Fates Warning, Wratchchild America, Stratovarius and Nightwish to name a few.

I hope they get things back together. They lost their singer and awesome drummer to the ego maniac of a guitarist (ala Yngwie Malmsteen) and as far as I know havent replaced them yet.

I actually dig Nightwish better. I like their keyboardist's sound and think its cool to have a chick opera singer fronting a heavy metal band. Plus shes hot! :D

Hell yeah! Its actually the only band where I think the keyboardist makes the sound! He doesnt use the typical wimpy sounding keyboard mix, his is more like violins and other string instruments. That mixed with Tarjas awesome, classically trained voice make them just about my favorite band behind Dream Theater.

In fact Im listening to "End of All Hope" as I write this! The most powerful song I know!

Father and Son - Cat Stevens
    Sunny Afternoon - Kinks
    Come Monday - Jimmy Buffet
    Mr. Tambourine Man - Byrds
    Lodi - CCR
Hazy Shade of Winter - Simon & Garfunkel
You're So Bad - Tom Petty
Tangled Up in Blue - Bob Dylan
Mother's Little Helper - Rolling Stones
    The Weight - The Band
Stray Cat Strut - Stray Cats
    Love the One You're With - C,S & N
    Shanty - J. Edwards

    Later,
    Danny

I'm ashamed to say that I do not play any musical instruments. I wish I did though. I do, however, write my own songs :D Just have no talent to put music to the songs  Hmmm...my music of choice is mostly european stuff...symphonic metal, some hard rock, metal, very rarely alternative and if im in the mood...country...Trey can tell ya bout my music tastes (opera sounding stuff) ;)
Trey (5:22:24 AM): my Taylos have copper phase plugs
    Trey (5:22:26 AM): they shiney
    Destiney (5:22:39 AM): ahaha
Destiney (5:22:57 AM): that gives wrong pictures of you lovingly caressing your taylos copper phase plugs
    Trey (5:23:25 AM): >_>
    Trey (5:23:27 AM): Mayyybe
Trey (5:23:31 AM): I do dust them, does this count?
Destiney (5:23:22 AM): do you linger?
    Trey (5:23:49 AM): not normally
Destiney (5:23:35 AM): then its okaaaaay
