Problem with old Polk S4 speaker

New to the Polk Club, did not know it existed until now. I purchased my first set of Polk S8 speakers in 1992, they still sound great. I purchased some Polk S4 speakers in 1993. The S4's have sounded great up until 3 months ago when one of them developed a fuzzy sound when playing "quiet" acoustic music like James Taylor. The speaker sounds fine at higher volume or playing rock music. These speakers have never really been "cranked up" or are not in a hostile environment. These speakers have been used almost every day since 1993 with no problems. I reconnected the speakers and even switched the speakers from the left channel to the right etc. The speaker still had this same problem. Any suggestions on what I can do?

Carefully, that is, by removing the drivers, check for loose/failing connections.

Whats the setup on the S4? Is that a 6.5 with a 6.5 passive radiator and the 1 inch silk tweet?

    Cheers,
