RTi70's built into the wall...Ignorant?

Ok, may be an ignorant question, but you never know.....

I have RTi70's and a Velodyne CT 120 sub. I am remodeling my basement and building my widescreen (projection) into the wall. This makes speaker placement a little bit of a problem since the 70's will be quite a ways in front of the TV screen. What would be the consequences of building the speakers into the wall also so that the speakers were flush with the wall. I am guessing there will be issues with the power-port on the bottom.

Thanks for any help....
Aaron

I'm not sure how big your remodel project is, but if you're using drywall, you could as a compromise build "cut-outs" per se for the speakers to set into. I would leave a minimum 12" boundry around all outer edges of the speaker, and make the cubby-hole extra tall in case you ever buy a taller speaker. If you line the cut-out with sound-proofing material, you wouldn't be in too bad of shape, sound wise. realizing of course, that this isn't optimal--but hey, some of us have wives. Set the speakers so the front baffle is an inch or so out of the cubby.

    Just a thought.
