Has anyone seen this movie yet? I know it just came out on DVD today I was just wondering if anyone seen it in the theater. I made this blind purchase today due to the fact that the front cover gave it 4 stars and says it's a No-Holds-Barred Action by the Cleveland Sun, not only that but the better half likes John Travolta and it's in Dolby Digital - Surround EX. I'll give it a spin tonight.;)

Yeah, I saw it at the theater and thought it was pretty good. I don't think you'll be disappointed, but everyone has their take on what constitutes a good film.

I rented it. It was okay. Worth a rent, nothing more. Like Frank said, not one I will ever watch again. Its pretty good for an audio experience. The packaging for the DVD is wrong, its 5.1, not DDEX.

I picked it up yesterday, haven't watched it yet. Reading this thread makes me wish I didn't buy it, but I've been suprised before.

Finally watched it. I thought it was pretty good. It's a comic book flick...leave your brain at the door.

It was an excellent movie full of action. I am glad I own it, and I have watched it twice. Maybe it is just a matter of opinion as to what you like. I love to see revenge carried out in a bloody fashion, so this movie works for me. As far as sound and presentation, it was Dolby D EX so it sounded excellent. Beautiful countryside island shots and huge explosions and gunfights. That is the reason I got my polk audio speakers! Great movie in my opinion.

I rented it from Blockbuster, and the soundtrack was indeed DD EX.

One aspect I liked about the movie was the hero (forgot his name) got shot & got his **** kicked in the fights. Not an occasional punch, but a total **** whipping. He was just a normal guy, he didn't have super powers. I thought that was cool.

Well then correct me if I am wrong. DD EX is the 6.1 mix correct? The rear center channel is the only thing making it EX correct? Thats my understanding anyways.

Pretty much. DD-EX is a matrix of the L/R channels played thru the rear speaker(s).

Correct, but to clarify, DD EX uses the rear surround as a matrix of the L/R side surrounds.

As a side note, the only discrete 6.1 mix is DTS ES Discrete. (there is also DTS ES Matrix, but it is the same as DD EX)

I rented the movie the other day and was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed it much more than the Spiderman movies and especially more than Daredevil. For a comic-based movie, I found it to be relatively more realistic and more easily related to.
