Well I found a blip in the window of time to make a pic of the rb 35's that I recieved in trade for the kg's that I sent to klipsch. They are a very handsome set and have a very smooth sound for a bookshelf with a horn, they performed very well with sade and other discs of this nature.

I found them to be very musical and could not detect any holes in the frequency range that they are capable of. They could use a sub for some music as they do rolloff very quickly below 40 hz. But overall one outstanding speaker if I do say so.

They may not be my favorite speaker, but I always like the way they look without grills....SEXY :D Rock on Mike!

Yeah, I have a thing for speakers without grills.:D What really surprised me was the soundstage, not at all what I expected to hear.

    Cheers man,

The horn really throws alot of soundstage out to the listener, it's a neat design effect for sure.

I should mention also that these were in house pre production test run speaks. Pretty neat when you think about it, they were never boxed to be sold at any retail outlet and my ending up with them just made the whole deal just that much sweeter.

Oh yeah, the guy sent me an email to let me know that the kg's had curved nicely in the chamber and that they would be completly restored and placed in their museum...now how cool is that?

Congrats! Glad to hear you're enjoying them. I love my RF-35. I love the dynamics and clarity on them. They really do sound like live music.

Horns are very picky with placement. You really need to play around with them a lot. They sound better with a good amount of toe-in.

So how hard have you been pushing those babies? You'll go deaf before the speakers break a sweat.

Hey what exactly is that big slot on the top? Is it the new Handi-Chop 3000 or a Juiceman? ;)

What was so special about the KG'S to have them in a museum?
    Never have seen them......

Those new rb 35's are a nice looking set of speakers.

Polknpepsi, I will assume that these are sort of a rare find as they were the original kg2 built without a passive and were in very good condition for their age. The newer design implemented a 10 inch passive on the rear of the cabinet that greatly improved the lowend response. The older version was not very bass savvy but had they been coupled with a sub it would have been a very good sounding combo. Here is a couple of pics of the kg's.

Yeah, don't mind me, the guy that 'found' them in the first place, and then sold them to you at cost.

Nah, I don't need any props, not even a THANK YOU for the best $120 shipped you ever spent (separate boxes nontheless).

Crap. Russ, did not mean to leave you out of this man and HUGE thanks many times over. Guys had it not been for the russman I would not have been able to aquire the rb's that I recieved from klipsch so I owe him Bigtime. Russ is one of the best and I really do appreciate him a ton. I plan on bringing them to the S.C. meet for the guys to demo and enjoy with.

    Thanks again russ,
    Mike
