Bought some gear off Ebay ,due to arrive next week.
Art 351 eq and a QSC amp.
Want to connect the two with the xlr inputs/outputs.
I’ve never messed with xlr cables. Need to know if both ends need to be
male or female, or one male and one female.(I’ll only be using one cable, mono config)
Thanks,
G

XLR cables are not needed if you are setting up the amp and pre-amp close to each other. XLR cables are great if you have a huge distance to cover, but standard RCA-type connectors are perfect for shorter distances. Save your money.

    Thanks Frank,
The amp has xlr or 1/4 trs inputs only.
Should I get a RCA to XLR adapter?

Yep, get the TRS connectors. If you opt for the XLR, make sure that you can get a 100% refund if they don't meet your expectations or they make no difference in sound quality. That way ypur not out of pocket for cables you don't need/want.

I would prefer XLR over RCA. XLRs are much better at rejecting noise (which shouldn't be a huge problem, if a problem at all in home). If you're worried about price, musiciansfriend.com has XLRs that are priced for the budget consumer. I believe Hosa (that's a company to search for) generally has the least expensive cables.
