Your best bet would be to build stands....
Or get wall mounts that let you angle them different directions...
Omni-Mounts is something that comes to mind....
But if you don't want omnimounts, you would need stands - turn the speakers upside down and then put something under them in the back of the speaker to the angle them downwards as much as you can without it tipping over...
I dont have a link to the omni-mounts, maybe someone can help you out with that...

i have a few more irrelevant questions but don't really want to start a new topic
1. could i use omnimounts on a surface not perpendicular from the floor or parallel to it??? (meaning a slanted surface)
2. my house is prewired but the cables used are 4 counductor and i dont want to buy biwire cable. when i attach the speaker wall plate should i just twist 2 wires together so that it connects to the 2 terminal speaker plate?
any help appreciated -
I would just wrap tape around one end of one wire on both ends, and then only use one end to hook up the speakers...less risk....
Yes, to your first question too- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
ok thanks

there are a lot of variables, starting with how critically you listen. if you don't agonize over finding the sweetspot for listening, image placement and tonal balance, read no further, it will probably be fine.
otherwise, if you have 8 or 9' ceilings, placing them closer to the ceiling will reinforce the bass (might help or hurt depending on your room and speaks). if you are also close the the sidewalls, that will boost it more.
without aiming the speaks away from the ceiling or sidewalls you will probably get strong early first reflections, which could muddy the image and tonal balance. aiming them might also help if your listening position is not optimal or if the speaks are too far apart, but, might crowd the image into the center too.
if you have problems with muddy mids and highs or an unfocused image that aiming doesn't help, you can also try treating the sidewalls or ceiling where the first reflections hit. this would be the spots on the wall or ceiling that you can see the speakers in a mirror from at the listening positon.

ok. im not too concerned about reflections because i plan to aim the speakers.
about taping the wires together, do u mean tape the insulated wire together and then twisting the raw wire into the binding post on the back of the wall plate?
thanks
