Speakers cracking noise/7channel

Hi,
I recently installed a new Panny 42" HD plasma. I already had a new Denon 3803 Receiver. I am running Polk CS350, FX surrounds, a Delodyne sub, and my 2 mains are Klipschs. I also have some Polks LSi9's hooked up in another room.

I hear the cracking noises, randomly from the 5 speakers, plus the 2 remote speakers. I only hear these noises during TV broadcast as the source. I can listen to DVD(Denon), or cd's or FM no problems.
The noises can be as often as every few seconds.
I have Comcast digital cable in Arlington VA, the tech even installed a repeater as I live in a high rise building at the end of the hallway to improve reception.
The picture is perfect clear. My old TV was a Sony XBR trinitron, 32". I never heard these cracking noises before.

Any suggestions???

Also when had the old setup, before HD plasma I had a same speaker hookup, but now I get on the display of my Denon 3803 7 channel stereo, where before I had 5 channel. I don't know why Im getting 7 channel, as I don't have a rear center speakers
in my main room, Any ideas why this is.

Thanks for your help in advance

Is the extra random noise only present when you watch certain channels or does it happen on every channel?

Did you change your tv service then notice it went from 5 channel to 7? It might have not been broadcasted in 7 channel with your previous service if you had one. I'm not quite sure about either but I hope maybe I can help narrow it down a bit.

    Thanks for responding.

The crackling sound happens on all TV channels, both the HD and others. I did have to get a new HD cable box from Comcast to get the HD.
I guess its possible that the Cable HD box has given me 7 channel stereo automatically , or is the receiver smart enough to determine how u hook up your speakers and then activates it??

    any ideas??????????

Seems logical that either the new TV or the Comcast box has a problem. Seeing as you're talking about Comcast, my vote is that is the problem.
