any ideas

Here my problem. I have a amp with a sub outlet, but I have three subs that need power. Right now I have the sub out put going to my RTi100's. I have a powered 100 12inch sub that am running as a passive (am just using right and left out puts into it). I tried a "Y" adapter so all three would have power, but I think it was to much of a pull on the receiver. Any ideas how to get power to all three?

    You could Daisy chain the Subs if the the Rt100's have in and out jacks for the subs as my Rt1000i's do. I have my mains setup with the jumpers inplace and have them set up as "large" and have my sub plugged into the subout jack. They sounded much better with the jumpers in place setup as "large" vs using them as LFE subs.

    Try it passive with your rears. The decreased content should take some of the burden off your receiver and fill in the back when set to "large".

    Preouts don't involve any pull, its all push. Your preout has no idea if 1 or 100 amps are connected to it.

    Y it out as many times as you need to, and adjust the gain on the sub amps accordingly.

    As far the 1000's go, a lot of people have reported a speaker (high) level connection to sound much better than RCA input.

    Right on, Russ.

    The pre-out will provide the same voltage to every split jack. Eventually it might run out of juice, but that is highly unlikely with three subs.

    Yes, I would treat the powered tower exactly like its passive counterpart; leave the jumper enabled and adjust the woofer level so it blends nicely, just like a passive woofer would.
