Parasound

Currently looking at two Parasound amps. I'm going to need to drive LSi7 + LSiC and want to make sure I'm feeding them all they need.

First is a Parasound 1500A that looks to be going for about $400, which would of course require me to get a mono block for the LSiC later (won't have the LSiC for a month, though). Other option is a 1203A for $550, it's less power, but perhaps still enough. Help! What would you do.

Polk Audio LSi9, LSiC, LSi 7 // HSU STF-2 // Signal Cable Interconnects (SG BW/A2/MP)

just another choice you might be interested...

I just saw an adcom 5503 3 channle amp at HTF for 600 + shipping
it can do 350wpc at 4ohm, I think it would be enough to drive LSi...

I wish I could get it to drive my front stage, but do not have money...

Seems like 350w might be a little overkill for the 7's, as I'm reading about people using this Adcom for LSi25's ;)

Also a bit out of my price range, as it's so heavy it would be almost $700 shipped. $550 is the max I'm willing to spend on a 3 channel unit.

I'm casting my vote for the 1500A. Buy as much amp as you can. You never know what the future holds. Next year you might buy some power hungry floorstanders.

Consider purchasing a bridgeable 2-channel amp for the center channel. Just gives you more flexibility down the road.

Bah! Got sniped on ebay for the 1500A, went up to $475 at the last second, oh well.

    $550 shipped a fair price on a used 1203A?

Yes. I think your objective was pretty clear in the beginning.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Thanks for the reply Doro, couldn't find any used pricing info on it. Looks like the 1203A it is!

Good luck. It's used retail, but is very common for them to move into market at that price. Always barter and work on the price...that should be a given :)
