Hsu still has a few of the original VTF-2's available that they're trying to move. Price is $299 with $25 shipping.
Give them a call if you're in the market for a great sub. Doesn't get any better than this.

Too bad they don't ship to Canada cause thats a pretty nice deal.

Do you think the extra hundred dollars will be worth it for the new svs when it comes out? I'll admit that is a pretty nice deal on that sub.

The VTF-2 is one of the most celebrated subs ever produced. You can't go wrong by purchasing it, especially at that price. One can only speculate on how the new SVS will sound, but there's no speculation at all about the VTF-2.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

The sub is tuned to 25 hz (at least the mk2 is), while the new svs is tuned to 20hz. Though it looks like that in maximum output the vtf 2 may beat the pb10-isd. What would you do? Save a hundred dollars and get louder and clearer (potentially) bass where most bass notes fall, but miss out on the very last bit of bass the human ear can hear, or wait a couple of months, spend an extra 100+, get deeper bass, though potentially with less output and more distortion? This is kind of a tough call for me, I probably won't use the subwoofer for music, my floor standing speakers go pretty deep in my tiny room, but i want an excellent sub for home theater, sub $400.

Nevermind early. I've decided that 300 now for the vtf2 is much better than 400 plus shipping for the new svs two months from now. Considering my only subwoofer experience has been with a psw 303 (no offense Polk, I do enjoy your speakers) I'm sure I'll be awestruck by the vtf-2. It's performance looks to be on par with the pb10-isd, and for a hundred less, I defintiely can't go wrong. Thanks for the heads up early, it's being ordered tomorrow.

Another option is to spend an extra $25 for the STF-2 from these folks:

The stf-2 is just the vtf-2 in maximum extension mode, correct? If that's the case then I think I'll stick with the vtf and just leave a port plugged, hey, $25 is almost dinner for two.

I know that wattage numbers are not the end all be all when it comes to speakers/amplifiers/subwoofers etc. but I can't help but feel like the vtf 2 mk 1 is slightly underpowered with only 150 watts. Are the reviews listed on hsu's websight for the mk 1 or the mk 2? My room is small and it's the only room i have (fraternity house while I'm at school. The room is max 12x14 with 10' celings, a couple of windows and a small opening into a closet, is this considered a small room or a medium sized room? If it's a small room them I'm correct in assumming that the vtf2 mk 1 will be plenty loud for my room?

The STF-2 has a 250 watt amp vs. the VTF-2's 150 watts. Doesn't matter that much, though. I've owned both models and they sound identical. For such a small room, either sub will be more than adequate. In fact, the Hsu will rattle your door, windows, beer bottles, and even your brains. You should fear it.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

I just got my hsu vtf-2 today. This thing is massively powerful for my tiny room. Next I just have to spend the next few days mucking around with placement. So far I can tell that I have incredible humps in the 20hz and 60hz range. Unfortuantely there isn't much I can do in terms of really moving the sub around that much, but we'll see what I come up. As far as b-stock is concerned, there's one nasty gash on the top of the sub enclosure, that's pretty much it. Oh well, will post further impressions tomorrow and the next day, it's off to work now.

c'mon Jefft, don't let something like work get in the way of some good listening with your new sub.
congrats.. i'm interested to see how you like it.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Yum, that's about all I can say in regards to the vtf 2. What an amazing subwoofer. I'm no audiophile (I can't wait for the day when I can stop saying that) but the vtf adds amazing depth to my setup (all athena's, with my prized posession, as-f2's in front). I'll have to figure out a way to even out the response as much as possible. I'll be painting my room then throwing up some posters and tapestries. I only have two other places I can really try placing the subwoofer, without completely rearanging my room (won't happen, especially since I think it sounds good with the bass humps right now!) Definitely by Friday I'll post final impressions. But anybody looking for a solid subwoofer I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger on this guy. I have him turned up to about one third volume (and I listen to stuff and pretty high volumes, 90db for a lot of music listening). Now if I only I can figure out a way to secure my windows and air conditioning unit a little better, one of my windows rattles like crazy!

ratteling windows... hey.. that's one of the free benefits of a good sub.
congrats on your new HSUPolkFest 2012, who's going>?
