Just wondering about internet deals others have made. One of my best friends bought an amp off e-bay. Totally ripped off. He bought a pre-amp, processor. Totally ripped off. No way to get his cash back. He has bought various tools. Totally ripped off. Another friend bought some computer stuff. Totally ripped off. Another wont even talk about it. No positive experiences at all!
On the other hand the first thing I bought was a pair of mono-block amps. Great price, great deal, good followup by seller. A great preamp at half price. A Blazer ZR-2 in perfect condition at less than half price. 50 some other great purchases for close to half price with no problems. One sale was a set of step bars for my blazer. The seller had significant negative feedback but I bidded before checking it. I got the wrong part. He ended up getting the proper part and shipped it at no additional charge.
Am I getting lucky or are they getting unlucky? It seems unreasonable that all is great for one guy but everyone else he knows has long since given up. Any good or bad experiences from anyone else?

i've bought a significant amount of stuff on ebay. Just check feedback, and you will be ok. I think your friends are just morons, because as long as you pay attention you usually come out well. Can't just assume its all fine and dandy.
I will also say be careful if you buy any 'new' stuff on the net, as most of the manufactures these days will not allow internet sales and guess what, that means you get no warranty with them...
Just an FYI...

i've done hundred's (300+) internet dealings(including ebay), and only got burned once. and it was only for $15, so i'm not too sour on it. not much in electronics, but as long as you are pretty smart about it and get the necessary references and personal info. before you head into your dealings, you should be fine. there's a guy at my office that has gotten ripped off like 4 times in the past 6 months, all for big $ items (classic car parts), personally, i think he's a moron! he's just asking to get burned...

Hi:
I have all positive experiences on the net. I just bought a Pioneer Elite 101 CD changer from Reliable audio. Received it in three days, perfect shape. The rules I follow are, use a credit card. That way you can get credit if your purchase goes bad. Be very careful when buying from someone that does not have any feedback. Check out the vendors realibility. Follow all this and you probably won't get ripped off.
