Just wondering if you had a Rotel Rb980 bx if the parasound Hca-1000a would be better?, i know its only 5 watts more, 120 vs 125 of the parasound, But is it higher quality? It does have a iec removable power cord, I might have a local deal on a Hca1000A with box and manual for 255.00 , I would be selling the Rotel i have to get this, I want a high quality amp for when im not useing the Tube amp.. lemme know... I know a few members have and had parasounds...

I'm interested in the responses you'll get on this question. I have a Rotel 980 bridged on my center channel and I just purchased a Parasound 1000 to power the rear speakers.
Off hand, I'd say the Parasound for $255 is a very fair price. Seems like a lateral move, though.
I also have a Parasound 1200II powering my fronts. I hooked it up to my 2-channel system to power the Lsi7's and didn't like the way it sounded. I preferred the Outlaw monoblocks.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Personally I think the HCA-1500 and up Parasounds are great amps ... I do NOT care for the 1000 or 1000A as I've heard too many reports of them shutting down driving what should not be overly taxing loads.
So if I had a choice between a 1000/1000A and the Rotel, I'd take the Rotel. -
yeah thats what i dont need, I have used this rotel on everything with not a problem, from Monitor10's, rti70's, rt25's to lsi7's.. i seen 2 1500's on e-bay and was really wanting one of those.. The 1000A was just semi local... But if they remotely have issues.. forget it. This Rotel is rock solidMY HT RIG:

Yeah, I inquired on this forum a while ago about the 1000A and everyone told me to save up and go for the 1500A if I wanted a solid amp. The general quality of the 1000's wasn't what people expected out of Parasound, and was more to fill a market niche.
Not that passing this on second-hand is helping any, I'm sure those same people will let their voices be heard here.... but here's the thread http://clubpolk.polkaudio.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20675If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -

Not ready to sell it. I just got it about three weeks ago. It really opened up my CSi40. Makes everything a bit more dynamic, male voices sound deeper, and rounds out the front stage rather nicely.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub
