NOVICE question...sorry everyone

I just purchased my first Polk's (after listening to tons of products in my price range). I have a PSW 250 and the RM6200. I will get a Denon AVR 1802 or 2802 (depending on how long I can hold out). Question - the Denon uses Banana Plugs and I know that my new speakers use binding posts...can I use the same Banana Plugs in the speakers (by popping off the little plastic black and red caps at the tops of the terminals) or should I use bare wire....

Thanks everyone for humoring a new guy... ;)

Almost all new receivers will accomodate both banana plugs and bare wire, I know the 1802 and 2802 both do. The exposed twisted wire is secured beneath the black and red terminals, which unscrew. The banana type connectors will plug directly into the center of those same terminals. Its a matter of preference as to which type of connection you use, as it typically won't make an audible difference either way. Bare wire connections can be fitted with banana type connectors and vice versa, the banana's can be removed and tied down. Hope this helps.

welcome to the forum simonsayshey... :D

in regards to your original question of, 'can you use banana's on your speaker's', yes you can, just pop of the plastic caps and your golden. bare wire can also be used by **** down the binding post on it. i use banana's on all my polk speakers...

Already got two great answers but i wanted to touch on one more =)

I never use banana plugs...why? something else to fail, come lose or otherwise be problematic. As they say the simplest system will prove to be the best...
