Yesterday I went to Cabelas new store grand opening Saturday in Wheeling, W.V.. My first thoughts after the 2hr drive getting there was HOLLY ****!!!!! What a store they put together. I was trying to get to the one in Mich. but couldn't find the time then the one opened up in S.E., Pa but the drive is about the same between Mich. and S.E., Pa just couldn't get the time for that one either. The store is abslutely an outdoorsmen's dream castle. They have so much to see from there 100+ full mount natural enviroment museum to a Afircan Safari full mount museum, fish aquarium and more. The store has it's own lane and exit signs on the Highway and flashing caution signs warning freeway traffic of the stopped traffic going to the store, now that takes some clout to get the state to alter their main roadways for your store. We got there at 9:45am and the traffic was busy but not as bad as I thought. after we were there for a hour or so it became REAL bad, I guess we got there at the right time. We spent about 4hrs and still didn't get to see all the dept's (intirely too busy) we did manage to go to the Cabelas resturant and have a wild game lunch I had an Elk deli sandwitch and my co-worker that came with me had a wild Boar deli sandwitch, both were excellant. They are having outside shows from the Stihl saw carving team to the UPS Nascar team all week they will have something different. When we left at 3:00pm the State troopers were directing traffic on the main road and the tour buses were still comming in, the back-up comming in was atleast two miles and growing. If you have never been there you owe it to yourself to go even if your not an outdoorsmen, the store is simply amazing. It is a 175,000 sq-ft cabin turned into a shopping mall, all hard wood walls and ceillings with mortar stone pillars.

I live about 30 minutes from the store in Dundee Michigan. the first time i walked in there i was like holy sh"t the place was massive. The animal displays were out of this world not to mention the stream with fish that travels through out. If anyone is ever near the store it is worth the visit just to see the displays. not to mention an outdoors mans dream. Totaly awsome. it is worth the trip from anywhere.a must see.

Yeah, I went to the store in Hamburg, PA. That place was totally awesome! When I go out there, I usually stop for dinner at a chain steakhouse on the way called Texas Roadhouse I think it is. Anyways, awesome steaks and totally worth the hour and 15 minute drive just to get up there to see the store.

Cabela's is one of my favorite places to go for any outdoor gear. I have boots, coats, camping gear and even cookwear from them.
