Hi all, please,please,please, can any of you folks shed some light on which digital spectrem is more succesfull in the States at the moment, STANDARD DEFINTION OR HIGH DEFINITION regarding set top boxes and tv,s. here in Australia its around 95% sd & 5% hd. some forums down under here are stating reversed percetages Regarding the STATES so Im trying to get some insight re the truth.thanks Fabian

As far as I know, we are at about the same percentage as you. Not much is HD here.

There's a date (I forget) that the U.S. is supposed to be all digital. FCC. It's coming up soon. I don't think it'll happen. But, I think it'll change things quicker. Prices will drop and availibility will increase. Till then I'm screwed!Make it Funky!

they are shooting for 2 years from now for all US broadcasts to be HD. this date has already been pushed back from earlier times, so who knows when it will happen. small time broadcasters are standing strong against it due to initial costs of converting everything over...

Atually that is in regards to going digital, not high-def. Which is what Fabian is talking about, HD. We have a few broadcasts in HD, but not much, nor do I see it happeing anytime soon due inpart to copyright protection. We should all be going digital fairly soon.
