I still stuck with CRT. Picture quality, I have not seen anyother technology look better. I watched my tv side by side with top plasmas and could not tell a difference. 50/60,000 life. And cheaper all around and when it comes to size nothing less than a 65 incher for me.

You still have some fan noise, ramp up times and pricey bulb replacement with lcd, dlp ect... ect... And a younger chip set technology as for as shelf life goes.

If i would go back to chip set tech minus lcd. I would go front projection again. A 9 foot screen would be cheaper than a 43incher. No contest.......

I haven't seen the Hitachi vs810, but versus the V500 I would wholeheartedly agree. The news Mits DLPs are awesome.

can't beat the new HD2.5 chip! The Hitachi does look better than the Sony XBR LCD's but not better than the Mits DLP. Again, just my opinion!

Some guys at my work sure do love the new JVC HDILA (LCoS basically)... definitely worth looking into!!!

The JVC has bright colors, but I don't find them as realistic as the Mits. The picture is way too soft for my taste as well.

The HDILA has some of the best colors available (without going high end plasma) but I agree... the detail just isn't as clear.

I haven't seen the new Hitachi yet. But I've always liked their LCDs. My personal taste likes the Sony picture better and Hitachi didn't make a 42" at the time. Not sure if they do now. I personally think that the LCD RPTVs look better than a CRT in most conditions. In perfect conditions the CRT can be better but I don't have those conditions in my house.

Uses the HD2 chip so it's a good picture. Not as bright and has a better picture than the Samsung DLP's. Still not going to hold a candle to the Mits.
