I recently purchased a Yamaha HTR-5460 receiver and the Polk RM6200 speaker system with the PSW350 sub. What type of cable would you recommend to make the connection between the DVD player and receiver ? Also, what type of connection would you suggest between the TV and receiver. Lastly, does anyone have a recommendation on which settings the receiver should be set at to optimize sound quality.

    welcome to the forum...:D

    DVD to reciever: digital coaxial
TV from reciever: s-video if compliant (component if your TV is
    HDTV and progressive DVD!)
Reciever settings: are you planning on running your sub from the LFE or through the fronts using speaker wire?

Right now I am running it through the sub, but I am going to see what hooking it up through the LFE sounds like. Any thoughts on the preferred hook up ?

hooking up through the fronts give you a little more adjustability on setting the roll-off on the sub to blend with your sats. to your preference, the LFE connect will cut everything at 80hrz and below. it is really a preference, try both and see what sounds better to you. remeber, when wiring sub through to fronts, set sub to no, and fronts to large, when using LFE, set sub to on, and fronts to either small or large (again preference). *some recievers, when front's are set to large in stereo mode, nothing will be sent to the sub, only when they are set to small in stereo mode(check your recievers' manual). in DD or DTS, either small or large can be selected.
