Matching the RT series...?

Does anyone know how well the old RT series will match the new RTi series. I have the 800i/400i/35i setup, and wanted to get the 500s for a 7.1 setup. Yet, this would be down the road a ways, by then they will no longer be available new. The only MAJOR difference I noticed with the new speakers is the silk tweeter, instead of the trilam. What do you guys think?

If you are using them for 7.1 I doubt there will be any voices in those channels. I really wouldn't worry about timbre matching.

I am kind of in the same boat. If I decide, I should say when I decide to upgrade to the 500s (i have the 300s) I might have to go with the RTi series. Ahh ohh well.

i agree, when using them for the surround channels, the f/x500i's and fxi50's should not be drastically different, keep you eyes open though, f/x's should hopefully be found for great close-out prices soon!
