Not sure how many of you are aware of this movie, because I'm under the impression it didn't get a wide release. Anyhow...have any of you seen it? Some friends of mine said it was piss your pants funny. IMO it's not. I smiled and chuckled a bit, but I wasn't splitting my guts open in laughter.

I think this is a movie that will annoy a lot of the people here....just because when you get down to the brass tacks there is NO point whatsoever to this one.

It's definitely worth a rental once it hits the video store....those of you who love it will obviously buy it.

Deb : What are you drawing?
    Napoleon Dynamite : A liger.
    Deb : What's a liger?
Napoleon Dynamite : It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic.

You're just mad because I get to talk to hot chicks on line all day.

    :D

I know...I just think it's a different kind of movie. You have to be in the right mood to like it. I agree with you though. I wanted to smash his face in from time to time too.

One of my kids has seen it twice and loves it. I have yet to see it, but may rent it or buy it for the kids when it's released.

On another note, one movie I thought was "somewhat funny" the first time I saw it was School of Rock. Now, every time I watch it I'm dyin' of laughter during some scenes. A cult film it will be.

I got around to seeing ND shortly before its DVD release date, and IMO it was one of those movies that has to sink in a bit after the first viewing.

If you really hated ND after the first viewing then it's pretty much a done deal; however, I cracked up at only a few parts when I first saw it and now know when I see it again those parts will be even funnier, and the non- to moderately funny stuff will be funnier, probably due to the anticipation of so many STUPID lines!

The point to this movie is that there is no point, and that's where most of the humor lies. Yeah, there is a "plot", but not much of one. There are lines that are so stupid they're funny, IMO.....

"I made like an infinity of those at scout camp". Killer.

Sounds like this is along the same lines as a "The Royal Tenenbaums"... you love it or you hate it. I loved the intro monologue in 'Tenenbaums', but couldn't finish the movie. Another example is "About Schmidt"... I hated it, but a lot of people loved it. Yet again, another movie I couldn't get through.

Just saw this over the weekend...it was painful but I never wanted to turn it off. At the end I decided I actually liked it. In fact I thought it was funnier than Anchorman, which was pretty funny...different kind of humor, but funny nonetheless.

Shaun of the Dead was funnier than both though...loved that one!

I wouldn't call it piss your pants funny. I found the movie to be depressing. The movie had it's moments but I just didn't find it all that funny.

"What the heck are you even talking about"?

That's about the best movie ever. GOSH!

I really liked it. Did anyone see the part in the special features section when Napoleon fell off the horse? It didn't make it into the movie, but it was fuggin' hilarious.

And the moon boots?? Who wears moon boots. That was sweet.

A little late to the party here, but I've seen the movie a couple times. It is awesome. We use quotes from it all the time.

How was work yesterday? "It was the worst day of my life! What do you think!?"

What are going do this weekend? "Whatever I feel like I wanna do! Gosh!"

"Do you think anyone wants a roundhouse kick to the face while I'm in these bad boys? Forget about it!"

Don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.

Good one to use on the boss---> "You think I got where I am today by dressing like Peter Pan over here?"

"This one gang kept wanting me to join because I'm pretty good with a bo staff."

    Just classic stuff!

Oh yeah, and when you are going out to lunch with a co-worker, just sub in their name here: "Tina, you fat lard, come get some DINNER!... Tina, eat. Food. Eat the FOOD!"

I was a little dissapointed because from what I heard it was friggin awesome. But I did find that it seemed to get funnier the more I thought about it after I watched the movie. Like some of you I only actually laughed out loud during a couple scenes. (the bike jump one)

btw pedros cousin's car ... was that a gto? Nice car... that whole image of the gangster lowrider I found kind of funny since my friends have cars like that :p (monty with airbags and 70 impala etc... hehe)
