LSi15 and Carver av505?? Crosspost

Well I will be ordering LSi15, LSiC, and LSiFX this weekend. In case you are wondering what changed from the last post, I decided to wait on the DLP TV. I was going to just get the LSi 15 and go cheap on the rest of the speakers and receiver but man, you guys let it be known that I will be doing the speakers injustice. Anyhow.

How are Carver amps? The dealer had a demo AV505 (5 channel 80 watts/ch with all channels driven and 100 watts/ch with 2 channels driven) who is wanting to sell for $400. I think I can get it a bit lower. Any thoughts/experience? I am planning to run a Yamaha htr-5660 (refurb) as a pre-amp.
System 1: Martin Logan Vantage, Rotel RC 1070, B&K Reference 200.2, Music Hall DAC 15.2, Yamaha 2300

System 2: LSi15 w/db840, Marantz SR8400, Rotel 1080, RM6800 (C&S), Sony X2020ES

System 3: LSi7, Yamaha SW215, Music Hall Maven, Music Hall MMF CD25 w/627opamps

System 4: RTi100, Harman Kardon AVR 230, Panasonic DVD

    I have the AV705 for about 7 years running my B&K R30, RT2000 the 705 is 125 watts per great product...

    The 505 is a pretty good amp, especially for the money. It has more than enough power for my LSi7's. I'd recommend it. You can find them for a lot less than $400, though. I paid $300 for mine brand new...

    Thomas, do you know of any vender selling the 505? Onecall does not have them in stock any longer.

    Thanks gents...I will post another thread re. what my plan is as far as amps are concerned.

    King, I can't think of any. I know they pop up on Ebay fairly often, though.
