Wanted to post a pic.. and I will if I have to, but I have a question.
We moved into a new (for us) house in June. I hadn't even noticed it, but my wife pointed out a ... thing... on the outside of the house... essentially a square metal staff, probably 6-8 feet long, 2 inches square. It is attached flat to the end of the house, horizontally, just below the second story windows. It has a slightly larger housing right in the middle, maybe 4" long. Each of the 'ends' looks like you can take a cover off, or at least it was manufactured with *something* inside (it isn't solid).
There is a coax cable coming out of the center housing, running down the side of the house, heading towards the outside cable junction.. but it isn't attached to anything... the coax is just looped, lying on the ground.
My first thought was "FM antenna". There is a separate TV antenna on the roof.
An aside: here is what has been happening lately:

may be something used by a previous owner for satellite...

I think the guy who sold the house built the house. There is a DirectTV dish on the south side.
This unknown thing is on the north side of the house., -
Ask him....

Maybe a Ham radio antenna, or something like that.

Congrats on the house, the mystery pole, and more importantly on the new addition to your family. Hope mom and the new born are doing well!
