Wall Mounting or Speaker Stands for Satilites?

Will I get a better sound by wall mounting my small speakers on brackets, or by putting them on stands? Why?

i prefer wall mount for rears, because it keeps them out of the way. And stands for the fronts. I guess it really depends on where exactly you would place them, the distance from your couch, size and shape of room, type of speakers, etc. You might need to place them and do some tests. I know this doesn't help, but lack of this info might be why others haven't replied.

do you mean satellites as in home theater surrounds or satellites as in bookshelf mains used in conjunction with a subwoofer?

ht surrounds usually end up on the wall and are often designed to be set up that way, where bookshelf mains used with a sub are usually better on stands.

what you'll like better will depend on variables like room size, how much floor space you have, strengths and weaknesses of your gear and room, flexibility of listening position, the type of listening you do, other uses of the room, how much patience you have for experimentation and how well your family, wife, children and/or pets are trained.

it can be as easy or as involved as you want to make it.

Thanks for the reply. I went to Circuit City and got the 5 speaker wall mount kit for $79.99. The little system I got is a cheap out the box Sony system for $199.99 also at C.C. I used a pair of old speaker stands that were in my closet at first. They sounded okay, but the wall mounting sounds alot better. This only a little bedroom system for me and my wife to watch movies late at night when we don't want to be downstairs. Thanks for the advice. The wall brackets allowed me to adjust the small speakers for the best sound I got so far.
