RT2000's any good?
I am about to purchase a set of used RT2000's,
I cannot find anything online about these speakers?
There is some information on polkaudio.com about the RT2000i
and RT2000p, but nothing on the RT2000.
Anyway, I am also going to drive 4 hours away to pick them up, so I would like some honest feedback about this speaker?
Anything, good or bad, I just something to base my decision on?
My RT1000's are deemed unrepairable, so I am looking to buy
the bigger set (RT2000's)
I loved my RT1000's for 4 yrs now, they were totally awsome, and provided me with excellent bass and highs, midrange was somehwat not quite all there, but the rest of the package made up for the loss of mids.
I guess I just want to get that warm and fuzzy feeling inside before making the purchase, so any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone ;-)

What do you mean "unrepairable"??? Hardly, you could probably get complete replacement parts right here.
If they have the dark mid driver, they are RT2000p's. If they have the blue mid, they are 2000i's. There is no RT2000 I know of.
I have some RT2000p's. You'll like 'em. I guarANtee...:D -
Very nice speaker,,Just make sure you got the juice to make them sing! I personally found the bass a little thin though.Sorry, I owned a set for a year before I got their big brothers, the Rt3000p's.

When I say unrepairable, I mean that, I purchased an extended warranty from the store I bought them from back in year 2000.
And the total cost to repair them now (replacing amp and sub) comes up to more than 80% of the speakers current total value. So they deem it unrepairable?. And offer to either:
A.) Give me my full refund back for the speakers. (which I am doing)
B.) Get a new pair of speakers from them of the same value.
But there are no polks that I can find right now that are even remotely close to the quality build of the RT1000's.
They seem to make them cheap nowadays.. Thinner MDF, no more active subs in the towers etc etc..
So thats why I am looking at buying these used RT2000's.
Perhaps someone has a URL regarding the RT2000's? -

Thanks, I've seen the info from polk.com but looking for other sites with personal reviews etc... -

Thanks ! -
Well I picked up my RT2000i's and all I can say is WOW.
These speakers are amazing.. I don't think that polk
makes speakers like this anymore.. At least I haven't seen any.
For anyone looking to purchase an older set of RT2000's
and you've read some poor reviews, I think those are mostly
polk haters or whatever. I agree that the midrange is not perfect but it is certainly not poor. Watch the bass controls in back of the towers, as you can easily over power the subs and get a poping noise comming from them if you have it turned up past the 2o clock mark.
Home Theater, is truly an experience in itself, I've never had a powered sub, and with these polks you don't need any.
Your room will thunder like your under attack. I have never written a review before, and don't consider this to be one neither, just want to let possible new owners know that these speakers are great! -
Hate to say it, but, I TOLD YA SO!!!

A friend of mine owns a pair. It sounded really good before he blew out one of his bass drivers.

brilliant, another that likes bass on all channels....
I got some 2000i in the rear too, you got some good taste dude:
 -
I've got a pair of 2000P's and have always been impressed with their sound. And I would love to have another pair for the rears. I also think that movies and multichannel music is a great match for these babies. enjoy!:D
