Has anyone had any experience with bestbuyplasma.com? They seem to have some really low prices on Yamaha receivers. I'm still trying to find out if they are an authorized dealer.

i personally wouldn't do business with them.

But its your call. Maybe call and see how you feel after talking to a real live person. Authorized dealer check would be good as well. -
Also looked into the company parentage/ownership and it's pretty cloudy waters. They seem to be the internet outlet that is partially owned by several businesses owned by the same family. I'm thinking the reason that their Yamaha HTR5790 and RVX2400 are priced several hundred dollars lower than the competition is not all on the up-and-up.DKG999

IMHO, any time your going to put out an investment on something of that nature new, you should ONLY go through an AUTHORIZED dealer.
You should beable to find any on Yamaha's web site. Here's a link to Yamaha's dealer locater.
Don't play around with it when it comes to warrantee. You could get burned pretty good. -
The problem with Yamaha's authorized dealer locater is that the legal corporate name of the authorized dealer can be much different than the company you buy from. Several of the Yamaha authorized dealers on their list have multiple internet store-fronts operating under different names, all claiming to be authorized dealers because they are owned by the company that is actually an authorized dealer on Yamaha's site. I totally agree with dealing with reputable dealers, and there are reputable online dealers, it's just hard to sort them out from all the maybe-not-so-reputable ones. Also, it's hard to ignore pricing that is several hundred dollars less. For example, local stores want $999 for the RXV-2400 when online the average price is in the low $700's plus shipping. Also, unless you buy the local dealers extended warranty, you have to send the unit to an authorized Yamaha repair site yourself anyway, so the claim of better service from a local dealer just doesn't hold up anymore.DKG999
