AC outlet on receiver

can I use one of the ac outlets on the receiver to either power a cd player or my extra dvd player which will be used for MP3's.
I have no other room on my power bar or in the wall. I can either plug it into the receiver or hook up a mutli-plug on the wall which will then feed the power bar the tv and the cd player what would be the best option ??
Thanks

some purists might say no, but with a dvd or cd playr, you shoulnt have a problem because they dont use much juice. however, avoid higher power usage items being plugged in there, such as any power amps. power amps should have their own power supply
but plugging a cd player or dvd player in their should not be a problem if you have no other options.Living Room 2 Channel -

thank you it's pretty much what I thought !! yeah there is no way I would hook up an amp or sub in the AV outlet.
Thanks again !! -
I more or less solved the outlet crunch by plugging in 2 power strips to the wall which gave me 10 outlets.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

that's another option as well just adds more clutter behind the TV area

I just picked up the new Monster power bar. It's called the HTS2000 MK II. 12 outlets on this bad boy!! 2 high current outlets for your receiver and main amp. Pretty nifty.
Here's the info
I got mine a little cheaper than MSRP at one of the sub stores at Amazon.
I like it... -
very nice but those puppies are 350-400 cad......try and explain that to my wife !!

I have a product called the VEI V-8000 power pannel. It has 8 individually switched outlets. I plug my 7 amps into it and it works great. I then plug the VEI and another more standard power strip into my power conditioner. This seems to work out really well. A power conditioner for each piece would be better but is out of my price range. The cost of the VEI unit is +- $69.00. Mama didn't have a fit over that one. The 7 amps were the tough sell.

I bet they were. Losta dirty dishes there...;)
Willow, I'm sorry, I didn't notice your in Canada.:( -
But they sure sound good driving the 1.2s in front, 2.3s in the rear, the pair of cs400is in the center and the sure sub. Life is good and I do most of the cooking so I don't have to do too many dishes.
