As to using speaker wire to connect the binding post, many have found that the stock binding posts connectors do not produce as warm a sound as using say a 12 gage length of copper speaker wire between the posts instead. If you've got some around you might try it both ways and see if it makes a difference.

Thanks. I think I will start looking into tube equipment. Who are some good manufacturers of tube stuff? I've never seen any in a store, either; where could I look at/hear them?
